By Hiowte Derbew

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia -The Addis Ababa employers’ federation has called for the formation of regional employers’ federations to play their roles of both creating opportunities of work for many Ethiopians and bringing about social justice.
At the press conference held at Sheraton Addis yesterday, Thursday August 9, 2007, the federation officially announced that it has started registration for bodies that were eagerly waiting to join the federation.
Mr. Getahun Husen, General Director of B-Nile Ethiopia, said that Employers would justly do everything it takes for the development of their organization and for ensuring the rights and benefits of those workers contributing to the development of their organizations.

“However”, he said “apart from development of their institution the effort that every employer is exerting individually in this particular time when the world is coming close and communication technology is growing fast, would cause the outcome to be not fruitful”.
According to Getahun, the goal of the Addis Ababa employers’ federation is to form common positions on matters, which are deemed to common for them. Moreover, the goal can be seen in terms of enabling them to create a stand that will allow them to voice their concerns by participating in the regions in every activity in ways that are organized and to contribute positively to issues concerning the employers that have something to do with governmental and nongovernmental institutions across that country.

The federation is expected to create opportunities for going about their common goals which is geared towards specific arrangement of employers -employee laws having directly to do with the employer, issue dealing with tax, and solutions that will immediately solve employers’ problems.
He said that the regulation of the federation indicate that the federation works towards major objectives such as ensuring the right of employers, establishing new federations, strengthening the existent federations, participating on regional, national and international economic affairs and others.
