(By staff writer)
The Ethiopian Life Foundation, is gearing up to hold is 5th year
anniversary pageant later on this year, at an event called the
Millennium Festival of Beauty™. In a press release the foundation
informed that it is still the undisputed organization which holds
all major international pageant franchises for Ethiopia under
one roof, for such respected international pageants as Miss Universe®
Miss Earth ®Miss International® and Miss Intercontinental®.
This year the foundation has embarked on an ambitious program
of events that will see several new additions to its line up.
The pageant called Miss Millennium Queen® is one of the major
events coming up and the organizer states that it has been in
the pipeline since last August last year. As the name implies,
“Miss Millennium Queen” focuses on the forthcoming
Millennium, and just like in previous years, the top 10 girls
will each get the opportunity to travel to different Top International
pageants.
The regular sub-titles will be awarded but this year will see
special crowns and titles for the top 5 winners who will all go
on the be special Global Ambassadors of the Millennium for the
organization and travel to USA, Japan, China, Germany, England,
France, South Africa and many more exciting places. The Ethiopian
Life Foundation also informed that it will be partnering with
a new local agency to co-produce this year’s pageant.
In addition to Miss Millennium Queen® pageant two new and
exciting pageants: Miss Millennium Teenager® and Mr. Millennium®
will also be organized and winners crowned as part of the overall
Millennium Festival of Beauty™ planned.
The organizers note that this additions came abut as a result
of the strong international alliances and respect gained from
the international pageant community over the last four years and
the impressive number of titles and top placing of delegates from
the organization at Top international beauty pageants and repeated
requests for Ethiopian delegates for Teen and Male pageants.
The Ethiopian Life Foundation has maintained an enviable position
in the industry in Ethiopia since 2003 when it held its first
Pageant “Miss Ethiopia World 2003 and, and having sent Ethiopian
delegates to over 10 international pageants every year for the
last three consecutive years. And with the introduction of the
two new pageants and its strong international connections it hops
to remain the unrivaled power house of pageants in Ethiopia.
“We attribute our success to our Non Profit status which
allows us to focus solely and squarely on the pageant and the
delegates, not trying to make bucket loads of cash and this is
why unlike other pageant in Ethiopia we will never charge any
of the girls any registration fees and in fact buy all their gowns
and outfits ourselves”. Reads the press release sent by
Andy Abulime President & C.E.O. of the Ethiopian Life Foundation.
Abulime also stated that the persistent lack of local sponsors
five years on has opened up an exciting world of possibilities
for the future in the Fashion and Beauty industry, and he will
be exploring these commercial possibilities to the benefit of
the pageant.
As promised on previous years’, this year’s grand
finals will feature some very unusual entertainment and performances
and will be judged by international judges and celebrities.
